Many in the gaming sphere have said 2023 was a banner year in gaming, with hit after hit coming out in an unending stream of quality and success. I am inclined to agree with that idea.

2023 was a great year for people who love games. Some are even calling it one of the best years for video games ever and it’s hard to disagree with that statement.

My name is Rai, and I’ve been given the opportunity to share my top 10 games that I’ve played this year. I’m not a “recent games” type of person so some of these were probably released ages ago that I finally got around to playing.

So 2023 may have been one of my most, all over the place kinda of years in terms of gaming. After buying a house and starting up additional podcasts alongside general life things, gaming kind of took a back seat this year. Regardless though I did manage to play a fair amount of new releases this year, so here are ten of my personal favorites.

2023 saw a lot of projects that were delayed by Covid finally get a release, and the result is a year where narrowing down the new releases to 10 is a monumental task, and that’s not even accounting for favorites that I have yet to play, like Super Mario Wonder, Octopath Traveler 2, Spider-Man 2, Cocoon and many more!

2023 was a weird gaming year for me (I feel like I’ve been saying that every year.) With free time being the most limited I’ve ever had it be between work and school, I found myself enjoying the shorter, tighter games more than I did most of the large open-ended games that I normally would enjoy.
