Game of the Year: Baldur's Gate 3
Oh boy, Game of the year time! When looking back on 2023 it is an amazing year for gamers: Tears of the Kingdom, Dave the Diver, Dredge. Final Fantasy, Sonic, Mario, Fortnite, Lethal Company; EVERYONE was here to play. I think it should come as no surprise that our personal choice for game of the year 2023 is Baldur’s Gate 3. It’s story, mechanics, and roleplaying is everything you want from a D&D game that actually makes it out of the planning stages. It’s very rare that we find a game that all 3 hosts agree on being good, but when we do its hard to get us to shut up about it.
Last Chance Nominees
Like every year The Game Club has reviewed 25 games that are up for our Last Chance awards. Our current nomines for the best game we reviewed all year are: Half-Life 2, Neon White, Papers Please, Dead Space, and Fallout 3. We also do an award for the worst game we have reviewed all year and its nomines are: Pokemon Snap 64, Hunt Down the Freeman, The Yawhg, Halo Combat Evolved, and Five Nights at Freddy’s Security Breach.
