Hi, I’m Ash or MissCanon, my pronouns are She/Her. I’m variety content creator on twitch, animal lover and chicken nugget enthusiast.

I’ve been streaming for 3-4 years now (2years on twitch, 1.5years on mixer).

I stream a variety of games from AAA titles to the indies. We love to have a good laugh at my misfortunes while gaming but also just chat about the big & little things of every day life .We foster a positive space and LGBTQIA+ friendly. Please drop on by the channel some time and introduce yourself, new faces are always welcome.

1. Cult of the Lamb

I was sitting at my PC back in 2021 watching all the new and emerging games showcased at gamescon and much to my surprise, this cute indie game made in Australia developed by Massive Monster called ‘’Cult of the Lamb’.

My reaction was  “Aweee nooo not the little sheep! …..oh…oh! okay…This is a COOL concept!“.

The game starts off seeing a small lamb walking slowly to his impending doom. Presented to the four bishops , Heket,Kallamar,Leshy and Shamura they advise you that you’re the last of your kind and that your sacrifice will finally complete the ritual and condemn the one below to eternal captivity. At the falling of the axe, the sheep is suddenly teleported away and finds himself being given a choice to do the work of ‘The one who waits’. Now it’s up to the most adorable & possessed lamb to build a cult in the name of their savior, cleansing the land, rescuing new followers and defeating the four bishops. Keep the cult happy though with your victories, meal prep and sermons, or they’ll leave you in droves.

Since its launch in August , I’ve been obsessed and knew that it was a game that I wanted to complete.  It’s the first game in a long time that I wanted to get all the achievements in because I’ve enjoyed it that much to the point I also pre-ordered it for my Nintendo Switch!

2. Dorfromantik

It was a happy coincidence that I stumbled across this game on Twitter when it was in early access back in march of 2021, i jumped on keymailer to see if i could get myself a key through them , which i was fortunate enough to get.

This tile game was a breath of fresh air!  Imagine tiles like Catan with objectives to meet as you place them down. Some tiles will give you a challenge, for example, place enough joining tiles to make a biome of 100 trees or 25 houses. Your placement of tiles will accumulate you points and completing a challenge will give you more tiles in your stack but once your stack runs out, game over. The game features a relaxing setting, simple but yes pleasing artwork and a lofi background ambiance. If you’d like to pass the time and reach high scores, this is a great game to pick up! Now available on switch too!

3. Raft

Now I know that raft has been out for quite some time in beta (since 2018?)  and i can’t tell you how many countless hours i’ve spent with friends playing, but it went full release on june 20 with “The Final Chapter” . This was all the reason I needed to jump back on with those same friends and start a whole new raft! This was also an excellent opportunity to see new people playing as well, which I’ve yet to hear anything bad about the game.  No matter how many new rafts I start in this game, this open world survival it’s always so much fun.

It keeps you on your toes with needing to find water and food to survive all the while fighting off a pesky shark named Bruce for about the first 5 hrs of playing the game. Eventually you will find coordinates to bigger islands and sunken cities, following the storyline to what happened to the planet. I would recommend diving into this game blind without watching tutorials, it’s much more fun trying to figure out what you need to be doing. Having played it for the better part of 12+ months, it was great to watch this game go through beta with its quality of life upgrades. This game is a classic , I recommend it to so many people as a ‘time waster’ that now has a really great ending .

4. Dinkum

Fair Dinkum! Ever wanted to get back into the ‘Animal crossing’ vibe obsession ?

Dinkum is just that! Living in an industrial world surrounded by pollution you’re one day offered a chance by an old lady to venture to a new land and make a fresh start . Fletch joins you on a new island that is themed by the Australian outback, it’s filled with native wildlife, minerals and hidden objects for you to discover.

I was instantly hooked and spent countless hours on release playing this game. One of the major differences in this game though is that you can sleep through the night and progress through the game, unlike ACNH which was real time based.

From release you could play multiplayer and venture your islands together with your friends but they can also take your precious resources back with them .This is a game that is always going to get better with time. Thanks to a tiny team developing the game, they implement much of the feedback from the community as it grows. The instant winner for me was the character ‘Irwin’ and for any aussie, this is an immediate hook into playing more with a national treasure. Get around this asap if you haven’t already!

5. Disney Dreamlight Valley

Disney DLV was a game that I wasn’t all that excited about, I didn’t understand the hype and thought it wasn’t going to engage me , boy was I wrong!

This game started being the first thing I started my day with, wake up, make coffee & breakfast, play DDLV! You land in a valley covered with thorns ,gloom and darkness where you stumble across the humble wizard Merlin. He has no memories of what has happened and assigns you tasks to help him remember.

You’ll progress the story helping other beloved Disney characters (good and Evil)  get their memories back and convincing them to move back to the valley. You will unlock friendship with characters, farm for crops, cook food and create your very own Disney themed house with multiple stories.  As big as the Disney franchise is, I’m excited for all the expansions and characters they will release in the future, especially for a game only released in august we have already seen so much. They have already released two DLC’s of Scar and Toy Story as well as holiday events which featured new items to collect, makes this game all the more promising .

6. Wavetale

I was lucky enough to play this game early and it’s SO worth picking up! It releases Dec 7th so I won’t post spoilers. This game has a wonderful heartfelt story about a girl named Sigrid from the archipelago of Strandville. She befriends a mysterious shadow that provides her with the power to walk on water. She’s on a mission with her sassy grandma to gather parts from different islands and find out what’s causing the smog that engulfs their islands and sea. You’ll run into your fair share of sea monsters and puzzles with this game, the music is lofi and relaxing. It was the artwork that caught me,it’s STUNNING , the flow of movement on the waves and storyline saw me play the entire game in one sitting (roughly 5hrs).

8/10 ! Enjoy!

7. Life is Strange: True Colors

If you’re a fan of graphic adventure or tell tale style games, I highly recommend fitting this into your must play list . The game released on all consoles , finally being released on switch in 2021 , Life is strange- True colors is another standalone story of the “life is strange’ series making it story number 5. You play as Alex Chen, a girl who’s been in and out of the fostering system since her dad left her life as a child. She finally adventures to find her brother Gabe and mend their relationship in a new town of Haven Springs, Colorado.Early on in the game you find out that Alex happens to have a strange ‘super power’ where she can experience the emotions of people around her. You learn that you have the ability to help others with those emotions or take them away which will ultimately alter the storyline of your game play.

After we streamed the first chapter of this game, we couldn’t stop. It’s been one of their best stories in this franchise that I’ve played to date. If you’re looking for a great story, this is a wonderful standalone starting place, it’s a game that I think nearly everyone can connect to in some way or another emotionally.

Highly recommend trying it out.
